28 May 2010 - 31 May 2010 - Kiting event at Middle Wallop Airfield, England

A Middle Wallop kite event is being planned for Friday 28 - Mon 31st May 2010.

This will be a wallop reminiscent of the early years rather than the full on festival of recent times. Think it more of a large gathering of kiters sharing a huge open grass space for a weekend of boarding & buggying.

More detailed information will be available at http://wallop10.webs.com/

Send an email to wallop2010@ntlworld.com for ticket forms.

Wallop 2010 Update

Postby highasakite on Wed Feb 24, 2010 1:48 pm

After the numerous positive responses to the initial Wallop10 festival thread it appeared that we would have ample attendees and might even have to turn some people away. This has not turned out to be the case.
Initial ticket sales were encouraging, which was to be expected, and we thank all those that have shown support by buying tickets or volunteering their services in order for the festival to go ahead.
We are about two thirds of the way to covering the minimum funding requirements, but ticket sales have now slowed to a trickle. It’s possible we will not raise the required funds in time for the event to go ahead.
All the admin and organising is in place and ready to go. All that is needed is for us to reach our funding target.

Do you know of anyone who intends on buying a ticket or may be interested in coming? Or are you involved in any business or venture that may be in a position to sponsor the event? It will be a great shame if all the hard work from all those involved is wasted and the Wallop kite festival were not resurrected.

We are now in a position to let you all know that barring acts of God (or the MoD) we will be holding a kite festival at Wallop this year.

We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Special News for Kitesurfers

Postby highasakite on Thu Apr 01, 2010 11:15 am

After negotiating with the MOD and Army for the last few weeks we are pleased to announce a special treat for kitesurfers.
We have reached an agreement that will allow us to flood half of the field at Wallop for the duration of the weekend making it available for those of a watery disposition.

I think you'll all agree that this is fantastic news!

Ticket Deadline

Postby highasakite on Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:06 pm

To give ourselves time to get all of the tickets processed, and to handle all of the last minute things that are bound to crop up, we will be closing ticket applications on Monday 17th May.
If we don't have your ticket form by that time then I'm afraid you will be missing out on the fun.

Remember that traction flying tickets will NOT be available on the gate.
