A Libre Vampir 3.0 review by David Hepworth: The first time I took this kite out of the stuff sack I had a good look at it. A kite this cheap had top be made of cheap materials, didn't it? That was
my first surprise. These kites are very well made. All seams are finished properly, no dangling threads. They look good (very important in a kite).
The 3.0 is orange and has black venting on the inside. The lines are good quality SK75, the handles standard issue Kite essentials.
The Vampir (someone should give the Germans and e) is a Medium/High aspect kite aimed at the intermediate flyer. I would guess it is more
suited to buggying or speed runs on a board.
Libre have obviously spent time studying the Gin kites they now sell. The vents have a V bottom design similar to the Korean kites. The shape
is reminiscent of the Raptor kites.
In the buggy and a 15mph Onshore. A little under powered for a 3m but off I go. These kites are quick, very quick. They urge you to fly at the
edge. The speed is definitely on a par with the Raptors. A few gusts and a luff show me the V vents work. A quick tug on the handles and the
kite regains its shape before bow tying, something Raptor flyers know all about. Through the turn and even underpowered the kite produces
enough pull to power slide the buggy (just a little).
These kites are quality and cheap. For the buggier wishing to progress towards racing who can't afford a quiver of Razors these are great kites.
Put the 3.0m up in winds over 15 mph and you will get some serious speed runs.
Look out for Halloween special offers on these kites. The kite with bite.
Caution. Wearing Garlic while flying these kites will not protect you and will make your mates run away.

I have just had such a good session with this kite-3m-red on 29th january-wind 12-15mph-constant-direction-n/e-location-ashton court bristol-first proper session since buying it-it is such a powerful kite and ideal for a buggy-I was keeping up,in terms of speed with 4.9m blade/6.0m access!!!! and 5.5m bullet-I am quite light about 11stn but I was so impresed with the acceleration and speed-lock in and add a bit more brake and it really pulls-once you have got it set up it realy goes-tip-have brake lines tight-I have shortend but not cut mine by about 4-6 inches on the brakes-do not move the knot up on the bridle as it doesn't like this-mine did luff when I first got it but now I got the lines sorted there is no luff,no spinning and behaves so well in gusts-I can't wait to do some speed runs on a board.I kept running out of space but I am sure you can get up to seriously fast speeds with this kite-great value and a real kite to upgrade to after learning to buggy on a starter kite as I did with a beamer 3.6m-just superb!!!!!-I am thinking of getting 8m for light winds!!!!
