A Rhombus Firebee 3.0 review by Alan: Got a go on one of these kites the 3.0m. Kite looks long and thin compared to other 3 meters I have seen. In 5mph wind trying to launch is rather difficult having to keep moving backwards to get the kite powered and moving. Kite seemed to behave a little like two kites joined in the middle until it was moving around the window. The kite was very quick through the power zone and turned nice and smooth through pivot turns at the edge of the window which I think was helped due to the Power rings fitted. The owner of the kite explained that without them the kite didn't behave half a well. So looks like they are a must have option if you have one of these kites. Did have a slight problem with one of the rings when it moved above the main bridle connection. This then applies the brake when launching and needed to be reset by hand as the ring wouldn't move back past the bridle knot.
Didn't get to try with my landboard and in wind more than 10mph so is difficult the say what it would be like when it has some real wind to fly in.
I enjoyed flying it but don't think I would swap it for my Buster...

A Rhombus Firebee 3.0 review by Dan Hall: I've had the Firebee 3.0 for about 2 years now and used to take it out every weekend the wind was up.
The kite has loads of power and doesn't need more than a light breeze to work really well. In winds of 15-20mph
it becomes a real handful and great fun for scudding at high speed, or with a board or buggy.
The only problem I have found with the kite is that it sometimes has a tendency to collapse at the edge of the
window, but this is only a minor problem compared to the fun and the price of the kite.
The kite has definitely served me well over the 2 years, but be prepared as it can kick hard!! Dan Hall, 20/12/2004
