A Peter Lynn Bomba 13 review by David Hepworth:
First go with the 13m Bomba on Sunday. Wind was gusting up from 15 to 20mph straight on shore at Reef, Isle of Lewis. I am used to flying the Arc range, especially the Guerrilla, so was interested to finally test the Bomba. I am just starting to go out on the water so I thought I would go for a kite aimed at the beginner kite boarder rather than my trusted 15m GII.

First impression was that the graphics looked good. Build quality was better than expected. I had heard bad things about the build quality of the Bomba range but could see no problems other than the single stitching on the trailing edge. This could be a weak point if the kite was dragged on the beach.

I set the kite up on my 60cm bar. Sanded the lines onto the kite to stop the usual flapping about. Kite launched with steady pull upto the zenith.

First thing I noticed was the unusual shape of the leading edge. Not having seen Bomba's flying before this was a surprise. Not being an expert in aerodynamics I am unsure what this design achieves, something I will look into.

The speed of the kite was good, the 60cm bar helped. Must more feed back than the 15m GII and stayed well at the zenith. Tested the kite for lift and got some very good floaty jumps.

Out onto the water and ready to go. Kite stayed put until ready (best thing about Arcs). Dive the kite and the power came straight in. Steady through the window and up onto the board. (Then off the board)

This kite definitely gives a more constant power through the window compared to the GII, more torque. I can see why beginners and wave riders like them. As the wind picked up to a steady 24mph or so I decided to take out the 10.5m. I could have held on to the 13m in higher winds but not when learning in an onshore.
